The number of U.S. dollar billionaires worldwide has reached a record 3,302.
Axar.az reports, citing the UBS Global Wealth Rеport 2026 by UBS Group AG, that the billionaire data covers the period from April 2025 to April 2026 and is based on the UBS/PwC Billionaires database, which covers 47 markets.
The number of billionaires increased by 383, or nearly 13.1%, compared with the previous year.
More than 1,000 of the world's billionaires live in the United States, followed by mainland China with 562 and India with 211. Germany and Russia rank next with 193 and 122 billionaires, respectively, making them the only other countries with more than 100 billionaires.
According to the report, the vast majority of billionaires have fortunes of less than $50 billion. It counts 18 individuals with wealth between $50 billion and $100 billion and 19 with fortunes exceeding $100 billion, 15 of whom are based in the United States. On average, billionaires' wealth increased by nearly 25% in 2026 compared with 2025, although the report notes that much of the increase in some countries was driven by a growing number of billionaires rather than existing billionaires becoming wealthier.
