Iran’s Foreign Ministry has condemned the latest US economic sanctions against the country, describing them as economic terrorism and crimes against humanity.
Axar.az reports that, in a statement issued Thursday, the ministry said the sanctions demonstrated the continuation of 73 years of US hostility toward the Iranian people.
“Undoubtedly, US economic sanctions against Iran, which target the fundamental human rights of every Iranian citizen, constitute ‘economic terrorism’ and ‘crimes against humanity,’ and those who order and implement these sanctions deserve to be tried and punished for committing such heinous crimes,” the statement said.
The ministry accused Washington of using economic pressure alongside military action to force Iran to surrender to what it described as illegal and inhumane demands.
