Poland’s economic growth moderated in the first quarter of 2026, according to flash estimates published on May 14 by the national statistics office, as momentum cooled after a stronger end to last year.
According to German media, Statistics Poland reported that gross domestic product rose 3.4% year-on-year in unadjusted terms in the three months to March, slowing from a 4.1% fall recorded in the final quarter of 2025.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, annual GDP growth also eased to 3.4%, compared with 3.7% in the previous quarter, signalling a gradual loss of pace in underlying economic activity.
Quarter-on-quarter, GDP increased 0.5% in the March quarter, down from a 1.0% expansion in the December quarter, indicating softer sequential growth heading into 2026.
