Georgia will continue to deepen ties with Central Asian countries through stronger economic cooperation and the development of transit links, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said on Saturday, announcing upcoming visits by the leaders of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedow are scheduled to make official visits to Georgia in July, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.
Kobakhidze said Tbilisi was actively expanding relations with countries across Central Asia as part of its broader strategy to strengthen economic connectivity and enhance Georgia's role as a regional transport corridor.
The prime minister noted that a Georgian delegation had recently visited Kyrgyzstan and said a trip to Kazakhstan was planned in the near future.
He added that the growing cooperation between Georgia and Central Asian states should help unlock the country's economic potential and reinforce its position as a key transit hub linking Europe and Asia.
