Several flights scheduled to land in Baku overnight on January 13-14 were diverted to an alternate airport due to heavy fog.
According to Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), flights on the Istanbul-Baku (J2-078), Moscow-Baku (J2-808), and Tel Aviv-Baku (J2-322) routes were rerouted and safely landed at Ganja International Airport.
AZAL's press service told Caliber.Az that passengers waiting for departure at the airport would be provided with necessary services as per airline policy. For further inquiries, passengers can contact the airline at [email protected].
Additionally, the Novosibirsk-Baku flight operated by IrAero, using an SU95 aircraft, was also diverted to an alternate airport. The captain made the decision due to low visibility caused by the fog.
The foggy conditions around Baku airport have led to changes in several flight schedules.
Travellers are advised to stay updated on their flight statuses.
