Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a phone conversation with Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman.
Axar.az reports, citing Azerbaijan's MFA, Bayramov congratulated Rahman on his election as President of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly and wished him success in his new role. He noted that this appointment reflects Bangladesh’s growing influence in international affairs.
The two sides discussed the current state and future prospects of Azerbaijan–Bangladesh relations. They emphasized opportunities to expand cooperation in political dialogue, trade and economic ties, as well as education, humanitarian, and other areas.
The ministers also reviewed cooperation within multilateral frameworks, underlining the importance of mutual support at the UN, the Non-Aligned Movement, the D-8 Economic Cooperation Organization, and other international platforms.
They additionally exchanged views on regional and global security issues.
