Greek defence company Delian Alliance Industries has unveiled its latest innovation — a kamikaze unmanned naval vehicle designed for cost-effective territorial defence.
According to a report by SavunmaSanayiST.com, cited by Caliber.Az, the newly developed system is an expendable, remotely operated watercraft equipped with an affordable warhead. The company announced the development on its official account on the social media platform X.
"Soon we will present our disposable drones, developed to provide cost-effective capabilities for denying access to our territory," Delian Alliance Industries stated.
The announcement comes at a time of growing interest in unmanned naval systems, particularly as Türkiye has already demonstrated significant advancements in this field.
For comparison, Türkiye’s defence company ASELSAN has developed the Albatros Kamikaze unmanned surface vehicle, which offers enhanced capabilities. Unlike the newly unveiled Greek system, the Turkish Albatros Kamikaze can operate in swarms and is capable of carrying a warhead derived from the ATMACA anti-ship missile.
The Albatros family of unmanned surface vehicles, widely used by the Turkish Navy during live-fire exercises and naval training, is designed to simulate high-speed, asymmetric maritime threats. The family includes several models:
-
ALBATROS-T — a 5-meter-long vessel,
-
ALBATROS-K — an 11-meter-long model,
-
ALBATROS-S — a more recent 7.2-meter variant.
Each model serves specific operational roles and reflects Türkiye’s increasing emphasis on high-speed, unmanned maritime capabilities.
