Turkish Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler has said that the products of the Turkish defence industry have become part of joint projects in Azerbaijan.
"The products of the Turkish defence industry are not only being used effectively but have also become part of joint projects in almost every corner of the world — from Azerbaijan to Indonesia, from Qatar to Poland," he said, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
According to the minister, Türkiye is strengthening its position and geopolitical standing within the global security architecture.
In recent years, Türkiye has rapidly expanded its defense industry, transitioning from a major importer of military technology to a prominent global exporter. Turkish defense companies such as Baykar, ASELSAN, Roketsan, and HAVELSAN have developed a wide range of indigenous products, including drones, armoured vehicles, missile systems, and electronic warfare equipment. These innovations have found growing markets across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
Azerbaijan, a close strategic ally of Türkiye, has been one of the key partners in defence cooperation. Following the 2020 Second Karabakh War, military-technical collaboration between the two countries has deepened, with joint projects, training programs, and technology transfers gaining momentum. Ankara and Baku signed the Shusha Declaration in 2021, which further institutionalised their military partnership.
Beyond Azerbaijan, Türkiye’s defence exports have reached countries such as Indonesia, Qatar, Poland, and several African nations, enhancing Ankara’s geopolitical influence and reinforcing its role as a rising actor in the global security architecture.
