Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel has expressed hope that the war in Ukraine will come to an end within the next ten years.
Merkel, who served as Germany’s chancellor from 2005 to 2021, made the remarks in comments reported by Clash Report. She outlined her expectation that the conflict will eventually conclude with Ukraine maintaining its independence and sovereignty.
“In 10 years, the war in Ukraine, I hope, will be over.
And it will end in such a way that Ukraine will be an independent, free and sovereign country,” Merkel said.
