Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has sharply criticised Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, accusing him of promoting anti-Russian rhetoric and acting more like a “minister of propaganda” than a diplomat.
Speaking at a briefing, Zakharova said political competition in Poland based on anti-Russian sentiment had become “a national sport,” TASS reports.
“It seems to me that in Poland, politicians’ competitive rivalry in Russophobia has long since become a national sport,” Zakharova said. “Time and again, however, the question arises: is Sikorski really the foreign minister, and is he definitely the foreign minister of Poland?”
She added that, in her view, Sikorski’s rhetoric and conduct resembled those of “a minister of propaganda” rather than a foreign minister.
“Judging by his manner and rhetoric, he is more like a minister of propaganda—and not for Poland, but for some other country, because his propaganda is anti-Polish,” Zakharova stated.
