Russia captured village abolished in 1997

The Russian army has captured a village in Ukraine that has not existed for more than 30 years.

Axar.az reports, citing local media, that the Russian Defense Ministry said yesterday that it had captured the settlement of Shcherbakovka in Kharkiv.

The village had been completely deserted since the 1990s and was officially abolished by the Ukrainian government in 1997.

In addition, Ukraine’s DeepState monitoring project did not record any advance by Russian forces in the area.
