Restrictions on imports of certain Armenian agricultural products could be lifted if the goods comply with the Eurasian Economic Union’s veterinary and phytosanitary standards.
Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that Russia’s Agriculture Ministry said Armenian suppliers must ensure product safety, including the use of domestic raw materials, pesticide controls and supply traceability.
Russia’s agricultural watchdog has imposed restrictions on imports from Armenia, including flowers, dried fruit, fresh tomatoes and cucumbers, peppers, and several types of berries and fruit.
The measures come amid strained relations between Moscow and Yerevan. Russian authorities have described the restrictions as temporary and linked to phytosanitary requirements, while Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has previously criticized them as politically motivated.
