Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that clarifying the fate of several thousand missing persons is one of the issues that needs to be resolved in relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Axar.az reports, citing Armenian media, that Pashinyan said this while addressing the UN General Assembly.
“We have agreed on cooperation. Armenia is ready to continue and deepen cooperation with Azerbaijan on mine clearance. Of course, Yerevan also expects the return of Armenians detained in Azerbaijan as a result of the conflict (war criminals – ed.).
Alongside these unresolved issues, another factor contributing to pessimism is the periodic use of confrontational rhetoric by certain circles in Armenia and Azerbaijan, and sometimes even at the official level. Armenia and Azerbaijan have achieved significant results, and these results should be more valuable than the use of confrontational rhetoric, regardless of history, historical and cultural monuments, or other issues. Strengthening peace, advancing it and establishing it should be the main focus of cooperation between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” he said.
