International Turkish language symposium opens in Baku

The opening ceremony of the 4th International Symposium on Teaching Turkish Language and Literature was held at Azerbaijan University of Languages (ADU) on October 8, as part of events marking the Baku Turkology Congress, the 100th anniversary of Gazi University and the 80th anniversary of ADU.

Axar.az reports that before the opening, symposium participants laid flowers at the bust of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the university foyer and paid tribute to his memory.

ADU Rector, Academician Kamal Abdulla, welcomed the participants and guests and spoke about the significance of the event.

Describing the symposium as a Turkological celebration, the rector said international academic platforms dedicated to teaching Turkish language and literature would make an important contribution to developing academic ties among scholars and researchers from different countries and expanding the exchange of ideas and experience.

The rector stressed that the results of the symposium could provide an important basis for future scientific projects, joint research and international cooperation initiatives.

Kamal Abdulla noted that more than 40 foreign guests from various countries were attending the symposium, highlighting its broad international scope.

He said it was important for the contacts established during the symposium to continue beyond the event itself. In this regard, he emphasized the importance of integrating young scholars and researchers into the international academic community and expanding their cooperation with colleagues from different countries.

The symposium continued with section sessions.
