Statements that Moscow and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) did not help Armenia during the escalation of the situation in the region are untrue, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova told Zvezda TV channel, Reportinforms.
He said that Yerevan made its decisions regarding Karabakh under the influence of NATO: "Official Yerevan made this decision after consultations with the West."
According to him, the new tension between Armenia and Azerbaijan depends on the extent to which Yerevan allows the European Union, the United States and the UK to exert a destructive influence on the situation in the region and in the country.
