Russia’s Medvedev predicts deterioration of relations with South Korea

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev has said that Russia will comply with all provisions of the joint defence agreement with North Korea, while relations with South Korea will deteriorate as it joins the sanctions.

"Seoul is worried about the new treaty between Russia and North Korea. We will strictly implement it, including the articles on mutual defence," Medvedev in Telegram, reports.

But relations with South Korea will continue to deteriorate, given their thoughtless adherence to anti-Russian sanctions."

Russia and North Korea signed a strategic partnership agreement during Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Pyongyang. The document envisages, among other things, joint defence in case of aggression by a third country.
