Bayramov met with O'Brien

Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with James O'Brien, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, who is visiting our country.

Axar.az informs that According to the information provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting, bilateral and multilateral agenda issues were discussed between the two countries, as well as the current situation and perspectives of the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia on a bilateral basis, as well as regional issues.

The importance of developing bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the United States within the framework of historical relations and mutual interests in a number of directions was noted at the meeting.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the other side about the situation in the region during the post-conflict period, the negotiations on the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia. It was mentioned that Azerbaijan, as the initiator of the main elements of the peace process with Armenia, is an interested party in establishing peace and stability in the region.

Despite the significant progress on the project, the importance of changing the Constitution of Armenia and the amendments to the Constitution of Armenia and legislative acts, to give up the ongoing claims against the territorial sovereignty and sovereignty of our country, was emphasized.

Besides, it was stated that Armenia's militarization policy does not serve peace and stability in the region.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
