Syria rejects US-Israel deal

Although the US offered to lift sanctions on the Syrian government in exchange for normalization with Israel, Damascus did not accept this offer.

Axar.az reports that in a letter sent by Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa to his American counterpart Donald Trump, it was emphasized that they would not be able to accept the proposal for normalization with Israel by joining the "Abraham Accords". The Syrian leader stated that this would not be possible as long as the Israeli occupation of the country continued.

The letter noted that Damascus is determined to continue building a Syria that does not pose a threat to any party.

The Syrian administration also stated that the US demands regarding foreign militants require comprehensive consultations with Washington.

It should be noted that the US had previously offered Syria to ease sanctions in exchange for the withdrawal of foreign militants from the country (or from the ranks of the army), normalization of relations with Israel, and resolution of other issues.
