Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has cautioned that Israel could attempt to disrupt the ongoing diplomatic process between the United States and Iran, urging all parties to remain alert to potential efforts to derail the negotiations.
Speaking to Haber Global, Fidan emphasized the importance of continued dialogue between Washington and Tehran.
"We consider the negotiations between Iran and the United States to be valuable. However, it should not be forgotten that Israel may sabotage the process whenever it has the opportunity. All parties must remain vigilant in this regard," he said.
The United States and Israel launched a military campaign against Iran on February 28. In June, Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding providing for an immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including in Lebanon.
The agreement paved the way for a new round of diplomacy, with US-Iran negotiations held at the Bürgenstock resort in Switzerland. The talks were mediated by Qatar and Pakistan, which have been facilitating efforts to implement the memorandum.
In a joint statement following the first round of negotiations, Pakistan and Qatar said the discussions between Iranian and US representatives had taken place in a "positive and constructive atmosphere." The mediators also reported "encouraging progress," including the establishment of a framework for further technical consultations aimed at advancing the implementation of the agreement.
