Young Azerbaijani researchers successfully represent country at Antalya Congress

The National Scientific Team, comprising 80 students, young professionals, researchers and scientists, actively participated in scientific sessions at the 77th International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2026) in Antalya, Türkiye.

Dedicated to this year’s theme, “The World Needs More Space,” the event featured presentations by young Azerbaijani participants on space science, research, exploration, communications, navigation, Earth observation, spaceflight, and the future and sustainability of space activities.

Young researchers presented their studies, exchanged views with the international scientific community, and discussed challenges and opportunities for the future of space.

A total of 814 scientific papers from Azerbaijan were submitted to the Antalya Congress, 28 percent more than last year, demonstrating the country’s growing scientific potential in the space sector.

The participation of the National Scientific Team was organized by SPACE Academy under Azercosmos, with the support of relevant state institutions and companies.

The participation of young Azerbaijanis highlights the country’s growing space-related scientific potential and their increasing engagement in the field.
