Iran’s judiciary on Tuesday rejected as “fake news” a claim by US President Donald Trump that eight women in the country were facing execution, APA reports citing Mizan.
According to Mizan, the judiciary-affiliated news agency, a detailed review of the cases shows that some of the individuals cited by Trump have already been released, while others face charges that, if confirmed by courts, could result in prison sentences.
The outlet stressed that none of the individuals have a final verdict involving the death penalty.
