The suspect in the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting, 31-year-old Cole Allen, sent a “manifesto” to family members prior to the attack which stated he wanted to specifically target administration officials.
Axar.az reports, citing CBS, officials said one family member alerted police after receiving the writings, which did not explicitly mention the event at the Washington Hilton where the shooting occurred.
Investigators also found anti-government, anti-Donald Trump, and anti-Christian rhetoric on Allen’s social media accounts, the official said.
Family members told investigators Allen had expressed radical views and frequently spoke about carrying out a plan to “fix” societal problems. They also said he regularly trained at shooting ranges and legally owned firearms, one of which was used in the attack.
Allen's family members also said he was part of a group called "The Wide Awakes" and attended a "No Kings" protest in California.
