An unidentified unmanned aerial vehicle has been found in waters off the coast of Türkiye, prompting an investigation by maritime authorities, local media reported.
The device was discovered approximately 500 metres from the shoreline of Sakarya Province, according to broadcaster NTV Haber.
The UAV was subsequently transferred to units of the Turkish coast guard for further examination.
Reports said the drone was initially spotted by rescue teams in the nearby Kocaeli area, who alerted coast guard command officials to the scene.
Preliminary findings indicated that no explosive materials were detected on board the device.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the origin or type of the UAV.
