Israeli President Isaac Herzog said Thursday that he intends to recommend four Israelis who helped prevent a disaster aboard a flydubai flight from Dubai to Israel for the President's Medal for Civilian Heroism.
Axar.az reports, citing The Jerusalem Post, that Herzog spoke with Yaniv Hayoun, Dr. Shota Musayev, Tzvika Mans, and Asaf Rejwan, who took part in the response to the violent incident aboard flydubai flight FZ1073 on Wednesday.
It should be noted that a Flydubai aircraft flying from the UAE to Tel Aviv issued an emergency signal over suspicions of a hijacking. It was later reported that a fight had broken out between the pilots on board.
The aircraft landed safely. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later met with an Israeli passenger who subdued the co-pilot after he attacked his colleague with a knife aboard the Flydubai aircraft.
