Pakistani envoy commends Azerbaijan's support, slams India’s policies

We highly value Azerbaijan’s unwavering support, Pakistani Ambassador to Azerbaijan Qasim Mohiuddin said.

Speaking at a press conference, Mohiuddin criticised India’s recent actions, alleging that New Delhi’s policies are not only targeting Pakistan but threatening peace across South Asia. He emphasised that India’s unilateral steps, including strikes on civilian targets and the closure of borders, are exacerbating tensions, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

“Thanks to the measures taken by our military, a number of targets have been hit, and enemy drones have been neutralised. It seems that the opposing side does not intend to de-escalate. This morning, India continued its drone attacks and conducted fighter jet flights near our borders,” the ambassador said.

The diplomat emphasised that after the events, official Islamabad proposed an impartial international investigation.

The ambassador called on international organisations and countries such as Azerbaijan — Pakistan’s close partner — to play a more active role in promoting regional stability. He stressed that states supporting India should avoid backing provocative measures and urged them to recognise the consequences of such support.

He also noted that he has not seen India's decision to ban goods imported from Azerbaijan.

"This would be a very wrong move," the ambassador stressed.

Mohiuddin warned that India’s posture is “unconstructive” and accused the Indian government of ignoring repeated calls to de-escalate. He also claimed that India is taking “inhumane steps” against Muslims and violating international legal norms.

“Barbaric acts are constantly taking place in India, and the world remains silent,” he added. “Just as the world remained silent during the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, we are seeing a similar lack of response now.”

He noted that to resolve the conflict, the leading countries of the world must adopt a unified, rather than superficial, stance.

“In reality, India is not a superpower under any circumstances. We understand this, and those who support it must realize it too,” he finalised.
