UEFA is expected to confirm the host city for the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League final at its upcoming Executive Committee meeting, with Madrid and Baku vying for the honour.
Such meetings typically take place shortly before the current season's Champions League final, which is scheduled for May 31 this year, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The official announcement on the 2026/27 venue is therefore anticipated on either May 30 or 31.
Spain has proposed staging the final at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano stadium in Madrid, while Azerbaijan is bidding to host the showpiece match at Baku’s Olympic Stadium.
Spanish media had already declared victory in the bidding process several weeks ago. However, UEFA has yet to issue any formal confirmation.
