Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has remarked that France occasionally signals its desire to address ongoing issues with Russia, but often does so "in whispers".
Speaking during the award ceremony for Emmanuel Quidet, President of the Franco-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who was honored with the Order of Friendship, Lavrov commented on the subtle nature of France's diplomatic approach, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
"Sometimes our French colleagues send us signals that they indeed want to find solutions to the problems that have arisen, but they do so quietly," Lavrov said.
Lavrov added that in France, there has been the introduction of a false, crude, and simplistic explanation of the situation surrounding the Ukrainian conflict, calling this development regrettable.
Earlier, the Russian foreign minister also stated that several French lawmakers expressed their desire to attend the Victory Day Parade in Moscow.
