Polish ministry secures major weapons contracts with 81 companies to boost defence

Polish Deputy Minister of National Defence Paweł Beida has said that the Ministry of National Defence signed a series of weapons contracts with 81 companies, representing a significant investment in the country's defence sector.

He made these remarks during a conference in Warsaw, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.

Beida revealed that 81 companies will receive contracts valued at a total of 350 million zlotys (approximately $92 million). Looking ahead, he also outlined plans for further investment, with more than half a billion zlotys (over $130 million) set to be allocated to Poland’s military industry, both state-owned and private, next year.

The deputy minister also underscored Poland's commitment to ensuring the sustainability of its defence industry in the event of a crisis. Beida explained that the Ministry of National Defence actively supports numerous factories and arms manufacturers to maintain production capacity, even in the absence of immediate demand for certain military equipment or weapons.

“At the Ministry of National Defence, we support many factories and arms manufacturers. This includes maintaining production capabilities, even if there is no immediate need for certain equipment or weapons. The idea is to preserve these capabilities within the designated sector in case of a critical hour,” he added, emphasising the long-term strategic thinking behind the investment.
