The European Cup for juniors in judo has kicked off in Istanbul.
Axar.az reports that Azerbaijani athletes won 3 medals on the first day of the competition.
Nizami Imranov (66 kg) defeated all his opponents to become the winner of the European Cup. He beat an Uzbek athlete in the final.
Nihad Mamishov and Farid Garayev (both in the 60 kg category) won bronze medals.
It’s worth noting that Azerbaijan is represented by 38 judokas in the tournament.
