Baku Marathon Overcome the Wind has started, APA reports.
The marathon started at 10:00 from the National Flag Square.
Thousands of participants, including well-known political and public figures, artists, and intellectuals, have joined the Baku Marathon, organized for the 8th time at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. In total, up to 28,000 people have registered for the marathon. People with physical disabilities and children with Down syndrome are also participating in the march.
In addition to Azerbaijani citizens, the marathon is attended by foreigners living and working in our country, as well as those from Germany, the United States, Australia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Great Britain, France, India, Spain, Italy, Canada, the Netherlands, Uzbekistan, Poland, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine and other countries.
The marathon route, with the start and finish points at the National Flag Square, covers the Seaside Boulevard, as well as the central streets and avenues of the capital, covering a total distance of 21 km.
