The Ukrainian government has simplified the import procedure for explosives intended for manufacturers that are engaging in the ammunition production.
The announcement was made by the Ukraine’s Ministry for Strategic Industries, Caliber.Az reports referring to Russian media.
"The adopted changes have improved and simplified the procedure for importing explosives, their initiation devices, and products or equipment containing explosives for manufacturers who do not yet have active contracts," the statement reads.
According to the head of the ministry, Herman Smetanin, these measures “allow for the acceleration of explosive imports and other critical components,” noting that amid a global shortage of such materials, expediting their delivery to Ukraine represents a significant boost to ammunition production.
Kyiv has consistently stated its readiness to expand domestic arms manufacturing, including ammunition, but has called on allied Western governments to fund the production of military goods made at Ukrainian facilities. Smetanin previously noted that Ukraine requires up to $20 billion for the financing for these efforts.
